Distant Letter

One of a small group of works Yassin Mohamadawi made, Distant Letter returns to a recurring subject: boats pulled up on the mud. The portrait composition is carried by ochres, siennas and a burst of cadmium red, laid on with long glazes over an earth ground. What stays with the viewer is its restraint. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
