In Northern Reed Bed, Shaker Alousi sets down a wedding procession in the alley, remembered from Baghdad. The landscape composition is carried by warm earth tones — sand, rust and burnt orange, laid on with thin washes that let the drawing show through. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali. It is shown here framed, as the artist intended.
