One of a small group of works Salem Mathkour made in 2021, Winter Vigil returns to a recurring subject: a flock of birds over the river. Olive, ash and a thread of rose dominate, worked with areas of flat colour against a textured ground. A work of unusual urgency. Exhibited at Orfali Art Gallery.
