Late Market

One of a small group of works Salem Mathkour made, Late Market returns to a recurring subject: a wedding procession in the alley. Built with layers scraped back to the canvas, the surface holds muted greens and greys with a single warm accent; the landscape format keeps the eye close to the subject. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali. It is shown here as the artist intended.
