One of a small group of works Salem Mathkour made in 2016, Amber Horizon returns to a recurring subject: women carrying water at dusk. Built with a palette knife dragged across wet paint, the surface holds muted greens and greys with a single warm accent; the landscape format keeps the eye close to the subject.
