One of a small group of works Salam Khedher made, Silent Reed Bed returns to a recurring subject: a wedding procession in the alley. Built with thin washes that let the drawing show through, the surface holds olive, ash and a thread of rose; the square format keeps the eye close to the subject. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali. It is shown here as the artist intended.
