One of a small group of works Qassim Sabti made in 2015, Blue Shore returns to a recurring subject: the courtyard of a childhood house. Built with areas of flat colour against a textured ground, the surface holds olive, ash and a thread of rose; the portrait format keeps the eye close to the subject. A work of unusual defiance. Exhibited at Orfali Art Gallery.
