Wandering Courtyard

One of a small group of works Nathem Hamed made, Wandering Courtyard returns to a recurring subject: the roofs of the old quarter after rain. Warm earth tones — sand, rust and burnt orange dominate, worked with thin washes that let the drawing show through. What stays with the viewer is its quiet joy. Formerly in a private collection, Amman.
