Silent Orchard was painted after a stay in Jerusalem. Built with thick impasto built up over weeks, the surface holds ochres, siennas and a burst of cadmium red; the landscape format keeps the eye close to the subject. What stays with the viewer is its restraint. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
