Distant Shore was painted in 2009 after a stay in Salt. Built with a palette knife dragged across wet paint, the surface holds a balanced palette of earth and sky; the square format keeps the eye close to the subject. What stays with the viewer is its restraint. Formerly in a private collection, Amman.
