One of a small group of works Ibraheem AlKhateeb made in 2008, Wandering Vigil returns to a recurring subject: the last palm trees before the desert. Built with short, hatched strokes, the surface holds olive, ash and a thread of rose; the landscape format keeps the eye close to the subject. What stays with the viewer is its urgency. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
