Distant Letter

One of a small group of works Hashim Hannoon made, Distant Letter returns to a recurring subject: a horse and rider dissolving into dust. The square composition is carried by silvered greens and the blue of distance, laid on with layers scraped back to the canvas. A work of unusual quiet joy. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
