Amber Courtyard was painted in 2011 after a stay in the Euphrates. The landscape composition is carried by warm earth tones — sand, rust and burnt orange, laid on with layers scraped back to the canvas. A work of unusual defiance. Exhibited at Orfali Art Gallery.
