One of a small group of works Farouq Hassan made in 2012, Evening Shore returns to a recurring subject: women carrying water at dusk. Built with a single continuous line, the surface holds a balanced palette of earth and sky; the square format keeps the eye close to the subject. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali. It is shown here as the artist intended.
