Copper Reed Bed was painted in 2012 after a stay in Beirut. Built with long glazes over an earth ground, the surface holds olive, ash and a thread of rose; the portrait format keeps the eye close to the subject. What stays with the viewer is its defiance. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
