In Wandering Threshold, Eyad Qaraghuly sets down the roofs of the old quarter after rain, remembered from Jerusalem. Built with thick impasto built up over weeks, the surface holds bleached whites with the faintest wash of colour; the portrait format keeps the eye close to the subject.
