Morning River

Morning River was painted in 2018 after a stay in Jerusalem. Built with layers scraped back to the canvas, the surface holds warm earth tones — sand, rust and burnt orange; the square format keeps the eye close to the subject. What stays with the viewer is its melancholy. Formerly in a private collection, Amman.
