One of a small group of works Abdulqader Bakheet made in 2016, Slow Window returns to a recurring subject: a horse and rider dissolving into dust. The portrait composition is carried by olive, ash and a thread of rose, laid on with thin washes that let the drawing show through. A work of unusual melancholy. Formerly in a private collection, Amman.
