Morning Courtyard was painted after a stay in Mosul. Built with a palette knife dragged across wet paint, the surface holds muted greens and greys with a single warm accent; the landscape format keeps the eye close to the subject. A work of unusual defiance. Shown in the artist's solo exhibition at Orfali.
